My family has enjoyed the beauty of Orcas since 1915 - my roots run deep. My children are 4th generation Orcas Islanders. I was born and raised on Orcas back when you knew everyone on the island. I graduated from OHS in 1969, left Ocras to attend Skagit Valley Jr. College then to Seattle to attend business school.
I lived in the Bellingham area for 11 years before moving back to Orcas. I wanted my two children to have the opportunity to grow up here and have the experience of island life and to be close to the family farm.
I worked at our Sears Catalog store before it closed, San Juan Title and had my own business. For the past 2-1/2 years I've worked with Teri Williams at Permit Resources, preparing and submitting all types of building permits and land use permits.I've been involved with the American Legion as my grandparents were charter members when it was first organized here on Orcas in 1943. I enjoy working in the garden, growing vegetable and flowers and being able to share the harvest with those around us. I also enjoy being out in our boat enjoying the beauty of the San Juan Islands, as to me there is no place as peaceful and beautiful as here on Orcas Island.
